Katie Hunt
Katie
loves to perform, even though circumstances haven't presented her with the
opportunity for nearly as much involvement in theatre as she would have liked.
She attended Brooks High School until recently and, unfortunately, they don't
offer students a theatre department.
She
is now at Florence High School and enthusiastic about getting evolved in their
very active drama department. She is also involved in the Random Acts of Theatre
group. She has performed with their
Improv troupe and recently had a role in their performance of The Vagina
Monologues. The performances that
Katie has been involved with were more than enough for her to decide she would
like to pursue acting and see where it leads.
She plans to audition for some of the local films being produced and she
plans to become involved with the Zodiac Players.
She hopes to continue learning her craft and perhaps make performance her
career.
Apart
from the performing arts, Katie is also very interested in music. She has played
piano since she was very young and had been performing in recitals since the age
of six. She has been a part of her
school band since 6th grade and says that she is the happiest when playing in
competitions, and at foot ball games. Through
band Katie experimented with many instruments and learned enough about
percussion to know that she wanted to play drums.
She bought herself a drum set at age 12 and ever since has been playing
with some local bands. Many
have told her she is the best "chick" drummer around.
Katie's favorite instrument by far is the violin. She is a part of the Shoals Symphony, and one day hopes to live in Washington and play with the Seattle Symphony.
This is some of Katie's art work. She often exhibits at First Fridays in Florence.
