There are still a number of extremely reasonably priced retail, warehouse, and loft spaces available in the Shoals area for development.
There are plans for entertainment districts in downtown Sheffield and downtown East Florence, and lots of properties for sale and rent in these neighborhoods. The Revitalization & Redevelopment Plan for Sheffield is now available on the NACOLG web site. Contact NACOLG for information about tax credits available to participants.

There is also still property available in the Downtown Florence Arts district located adjacent to Wilson Park where many of the Festivals are held. There are already a number of popular restaurants in this area. There are currently 5 art galleries, a stained glass shop, several upscale gift shops offering handmade one of a kind decor items and jewelry, and a Custom Boutique Computer Store. The monthly First Friday's in Florence Art Fair is held in downtown Florence

A number of the downtown Tuscumbia properties have already been renovated and house restaurants, and retail stores and loft apartments. However there are still some properties available within easy walking distance of Spring Park and the Tuscumbia Railway Museum. There are several festivals in Spring Park including the Oka Kapassa Indian Celebration and the Helen Keller Festival of the Arts.
